Product
Birch plywood, which is glued with colourless urea- formaldehyde adhesive
resin modified with melamine. The panels have been developed for laser
cutting.
Possible overlays
In order to protect the surface from spots and facilitate further
processing, it is possible to coat the plywood with prime (UV hardening),
acid curing lacquer or melamine film, for example: Riga Laser Prime,
Riga Laser Lacquer or Riga Laser Mel.
Further processing
Riga Laser plywood is intended for laser cutting or for
processing with ordinary cutting tools. It is possible to apply to the
surface various synthetic materials: films, laminates, as well as paint or
lacquer.
Application
Widely used for die-cutting plates in cardboard packing industry.
Riga Laser plywood is suitable for indoor use and applications
where colourless glue is required: for furniture, toys and sports
equipment
Advantages
Cutting with laser, durable, easy workable and environmentally
friendly.
The plywood has no visible edge defects.
Gluing classes
Bonding strength of modified urea- formaldehyde adhesive resin is in
accordance with:
EN 314 / 1st class;
BS 1203 / H2 (previously MR).
Formaldehyde emission
In accordance with the Standard EN 13986 formaldehyde emission
meets the Class E1 requirements. Test method EN 717 part
2.
Grades
Grades of plywood Riga Laser are defined according to
company’s technical specifications developed in correspondence with
SFS 2413, as well as on the basis of International Organization
for Standardization 139.Technical Committee II Working Group quality
requirements, recommendations and regulations on plywood with outer plies
made of peeled birch veneers (1994). In some points, there are stricter
and more specific quality requirements than in International documents:
B (I) – for
high quality painting, staining and lacquering;
S (II) – for good quality painting, staining, lacquering and
for coating with finishing materials;
BB (III) - for paint finishes and coating with transparent
overlays, films, and also veneering.
